    Flight Simulator on Large Screen

Thanks everyone. I'm using the iPad Mini 4 WiFi....so no HDMI out of it. I hadn't thought about the Apple TV thing, so that might be an option. Since I don't have the Apple TV setup, I wonder if the Chromecast would work?

    Flight Simulator on Large Screen

Soooo.....I am currently taking the Pilot Ground School with a group of which our intentions are to be able to get certified to fly for Public Safety usage. At the end of Ground School, we will have a couple of sessions specifically for UAS and since I am currently the only one in the class...

Inspire battery fully charged but only 3 green lights flashing

Had the same problem with mine, brand new out of the box. Worried me that I had a brick instead of a battery, but after the first flight/discharge, it charges fully every time in about an hour.

    Carolina Pilots?

Just north of Raleigh here. Going the extra mile to get certified and licensed and whatever else I need to do to fly my I1 commercially. Currently in Pilot Ground School going for my Private Pilot license if I can afford the flight time when I finish ground school. Gonna have to find some...

Flying in the rain? How wet is too wet?

SO, are you saying that my advice was great and that you OWE me money for my opinion? LOL! ;-) Seriously, though, I wouldn't say don't buy a drone if you live in a rainforest, but I would say look for one that's built to be a little more waterproof than the I1. I'd even think that the...

Flying in the rain? How wet is too wet?

Water vs. electricity and metal...... not a great idea to mix them. Shorts and oxidation are arch enemies of good functioning equipment and are manifested by mixing the aforementioned components. No doubt, the I1 is a fine machine...BUT.... I'm not going to risk my $4K investment by flying in...

    Don't get it wet!

Those original pictures definitely look like the bird crashed on a beach...it looks more like sand particles and salt corrosion. Not sure fresh water would do that much. I have thought about water damage, though, especially flying in our humid North Carolina summers. Doubt I'll try flying in...

    USA Civil COA-333 and 200' to 400'

I agree with ya on this! As far as my remote-controlled bird, I'm still officially in "Hobby" status. I did the registration as required and have the number posted on the bird. I started Pilot Ground School a couple of weeks ago and intend to go through to get my Private Pilot...

What settings do you prefer on the control sticks?

The way it's setup in Mode 2 seems pretty intuitive to me. Once you fly it for a while, it'll become muscle memory and you won't even think about it. At least that's what's happening to me. I find that with each flight, I have to think about the flight controls less and concentrate on framing...

    UK Copyright End Usage

My best advice to answer your direct question on standard fees is to call a few stations and simply ask the question on how much they pay for like media that they didn't shoot? I suspect the answer will be similar to what you are getting here....."it depends." As for copyright stuff...in the...

    Whats gonna happen when.....

First, I highly doubt that there will EVER be a completely reliable, autonomous UAV......as long as man makes it, it is fallible.... But, your supposition is pretty accurate. For the "average" user, they are better off buying a relatively inexpensive UAV and doing it themselves....small real...

Just did a Long Range Flight...

Wow....... horse....dead...beaten-upon..... seems that the debate is pretty well covered. ;-) Fly responsibly and follow the rules. It's like my parents used to tell me..."if you know the rules and you have to ask if it's okay to do, it's probably not okay."

    Known fatal drone/SUAS accident ?

There is a current moratorium against commercial use of UAS in NC, even with 333 and CoA. I believe that is set to sunset in March, 2016 in favor of the supposed regulations forthcoming from FAA. NC Convened a committee (a year or so ago) of so-called "experts" to examine the situation and to...

    Known fatal drone/SUAS accident ?

I'm new to owning a true UAS...my current I1 is my first REAL UAS....but I've had several smaller RC aircraft in the past, so it is definitely not a new experience for me. That said, here in the US, the rules seem to be knee-jerk reactions to unrealistic perceptions of the uses of the...
