Body & X5S camera are about 6 months old (replaced under DJI Care) and have less than 100 flights. Individual prices below or available as a package for $5000 ($1025 off). X5s on Inspire 2 vs P4P for still photography

Between the larger sensor and f1.7 lens options, the x5s had an almost 3 stop nose advantage over the p4p. Stabilization is similar, though perhaps slightly better on the Inspire. So you should be able to get 1 second exposures with either, perhaps even two with no wind. I own both. I'd...

    4K60 Narrow FOV??!!!

I suspect, however, that, like the Phantom 4 Pro, the x4s doesn't do true 4k in 60fps mode -- it's most likely line skipping in order to read out the sensor that fast.

Prores/CinemaDNG License in the event of crash/loss/theft

Hmm.. the situation I'm concerned about is what happens if I lose the drone somewhere unretrievable, like the ocean? I suppose the flight log of the crash might be sufficient for DJI to allow the license to be moved to a new drone, but who knows..

Apologies. Posted this first then figured I should make it its own thread.

Prores/CinemaDNG License in the event of crash/loss/theft

Jason, you mean the only time would be if you have DJI Care and the replacement is under the auspices of DJI Care? Thanks. Guess I'll include the price of the licenses + ssd in the hull/payload then and cover it for $7000.

Prores/CinemaDNG License in the event of crash/loss/theft

I'm in the process of insurance shopping at the moment, and had a question: how are the Prores/CinemaDNG licenses handled in the event of a crash that destroys the I2 body or if the I2 body is lost, stolen or irretrievable (falls into a lake?). Can you transfer your license to a new replacement...

    X5S Prores 4444 vs h264 compression test

Sorry, that may have come across a bit too harsh. :) I just find the dark/black clouds highly unnatural. Kinda like overdone attempts at HDR processing for photos. The houses in the foreground are brighter than the sky, which also looks unnatural to my eyes. Back to the topic at hand, some...

    X5S Prores 4444 vs h264 compression test

Hmm.. yes, the raw definitely seems to allow you to recover more detail in the highlights and shadows, though, to be honest, that grading job and the resulting final image is ATROCIOUS. I think the more relevant question to this thread though is whether Prores offers enough additional...

    X5S Prores 4444 vs h264 compression test

If you look at the 300% blow-up, the differences are.. surprisingly minor, at least after YT compression. Setting aside the oversharpened h.264 -- was that shot with sharpness at 0? Perhaps try -2? Could you comment about how the files look pre-YT compression? Or perhaps you could upload the...
