My findings show that properly focused 4K from the x5 definitely have more detail than 1080. A good amount (when viewed on a 4K or 5k display; and look anazing down scaled on a 4K display). Care has to be taken on focus with this camera. Like Ed said, it's like a flying GH4.

It actually is just for the camera. I updated my inspire 1 to the latest FW (1.4?) and then the RC in app to 1.4. When I applied the FW for the x5/pro it went through the whole sequence, but the only item actually updated in the end was the camera.

I'll be interested to see that. Unfortunately, when I flew yesterday in bright sun at a shutter of 1/300 or 1/250... half the time I saw severe wobble. I don't think the T-junction is the sole factor her. Balancing props is next.

It only happens if you hit RTH and the aircraft is within 20 meters of you. Otherwise RTH would occur normally, coming back right where you expect it. That said, I'd love to understand the reasoning behind this. Why anyone would hit RTH with the aircraft within 100 feet of you I am not sure...

It's actually $199 a year, and we use that storage space (mostly) for clients. So we need to conserve it. (And we are not an aerials company.)

Agreed. But you could also argue eventually the contact pad for the Inspire 1 gimbal will wear out from always having to be disconnected to get back in the case. :)

Very nice. I have gotten similar quality out of my GoPro Hero 4 however. They have identical sensors after all.
