    Any tips for flying indoors?

I know it's too late but when flying indoors make sure you turn off both the Smart RTH and set your Loss of Signal to Hover instead of RTH.

    DJI Lost small claims suit

We had the same issue with a pilot that flew with a battery that had been sitting and had discharged slightly. The battery time remaining was inaccurate and you get a limited propulsion error and rapid fall in battery life part way through the flight. Our rule is that you must start with a fully...

    Where to fly in Vancouver

I've never seen any indication that recreational users need permission to fly in Provincial parks (in BC). Do you have a reference? Of course commercial flights require permission from all property owners for take offs and landings.

New Zenmuse Z3 Zoom Camera announced

I've ordered one so I'll post my thoughts once I get it and test it out. It's not supposed to ship until at least the 28th of July but I expect it will be longer than that.

Got Inspire 1 X3 to work with Osmo but...

My original X3 from last Dec locks perfectly on my new Osmo.

1.6 YAFU (Yet Another Firmware Update)

Make sure it is formatted fat32 if you do.

1.6 YAFU (Yet Another Firmware Update)

Place it right at the root. Do not put it in a folder.

1.6 YAFU (Yet Another Firmware Update)

Make sure the bin file is there at the root of the card directory and there are no other bin files on the card. Check the log file on the SD card to see what it says about the upgrade (errors etc.)

1.6 YAFU (Yet Another Firmware Update)

Only the controllers can be updated from the Go App. What doesn't work? Please give a description of what you are doing and what is happening (or not) so we can help you troubleshoot. Doesn't work is way too broad a place to start!

1.6 YAFU (Yet Another Firmware Update)

It's the same as it's been since ver 1.4. Download and extract the bin file to the root of the micro sd and put it in the camera to update the bird, camera and batteries. (Leave the controller and Go App off while you do this). Then update your Go App through Apple Store or Google Play store...

Override of DJI No-Fly Zones - UPDATE

There's a hostage situation at the airport or near it and air support for SWAT is required. This is the stuff I deal with. We definitely need to fly in these areas when required. Of course we are certified and ground school trained to do it safely. I have been talking to DJI management about...

Override of DJI No-Fly Zones - UPDATE

Since the Inspire only uses a barometer that is calibrated to 0 at it's own take off elevation, then what you are saying should be true and allow you to take off outside of the R1 No-Fly zone even if you are at 200' elevation. Note that on your No-Fly zone map, the inner ring is your no-fly...

Override of DJI No-Fly Zones - UPDATE

It's a no fly zone at the centre ( R1) and then a 15 degree sloping flight height limit starting at 66 feet R2 that that extends out 1 mile from the R1 zone. It's detailed in the manual under the flight app section.

Firmware Bug Safety Issue - (Ver 1.04 and earlier)

I'm afraid you're probably right. I was hoping that one of the firmware beta testers on here that have a contact in DJI could include it in a report. As you say DJI support doesn't work to address all sorts of issues so why should this one be any different. Thanks for your comments.

Firmware Bug Safety Issue - (Ver 1.04 and earlier)

I'm not in fact worried that it is actually likely to happen to me or one my team. My main point is that any programming bug like this that can be recreated is easy to fix and shouldn't be there in any professional product. Could it happen to someone out flying with their kid who plays with the...
