    A Drone Hits a Plane

Found some new articles: Britain says object that hit airplane near Heathrow Airport was not drone | Fox News Heathrow Airbus collision 'not a drone incident'

    A Drone Hits a Plane

Do you have a link to the police report (or a news story quoting the police report)? Thanks.

FAA releases B4UFLY app publicly for iOS

Apparently there are 7 "heliports" within 5 miles of my house, 6 of which appear to be landing spots for medevac helicopters or someone's backyard not heliports that see regular use and/or have staff or published flight procedures, and the 7th is a US Army installation that has a helicopter...

U.S Gov. to require drone registration

I think NBC is misunderstanding what their "source" told them: 1) The FAA is part of the Department of Transportation. 2) The FAA has a mandate to create new rules for the commercial operation of UAS (drones). 3) The FAA draft rules included registration (N number). 4) The FAA is overdue in...

    NEW 7" 720p Remote Controller

I got the same survey. I have no interest in the remote having a display, I prefer to be able to use a tablet of my choice that can also be used for other things.

    Irrational fear?

Neither has happened to me. I fly very conservatively, am aware of obstructions between the RC and the AC, and land when the battery is at 30%. Edit to add: It's expensive, it's not a toy, but it is easier to fly than any cheaper quadcopter I've flown, practice, build your skills, don't get...

My TB47 flying time - normal

I land once the battery gets to 30%, typically that's 10-15 minutes depending on how aggressively I'm flying. For me that is enough time to get two or three flights and 15-20 photos which after editing is 8-10 good photos for a client.

    Yankee stadium

I hope not. Drones exist in a gray area of the law at the moment, increased use will result in cases that help clarify things (such as transit across private property in class G airspace), the outcome of that will be influenced by the responsibility (or lack thereof) of every drone owner.

    Yankee stadium

It's ridiculous they are adding stadiums as no-fly zones when they are legally only restricted airspace for a tiny percentage of the time. For example a NFL stadium only hosts 8-10 games a year where airspace is restricted for less than a day, what about the other 99+% of the time where it is...

    Battery Life for Controller

It doesn't specifically show that, but I can see how many full length flights I have taken and I know how many times I have charged the RC, divide one by the other and there's the answer.

    Battery Life for Controller

I agree with Mohan, looking at my stats I have charged the controller after approx every 10 full flights.

Zion National Park (south of) - G7 Timelapse finished with Inspire 1 Flights

Good. Didn't want any troublemakers seeing your video and reporting you to the NPS.

    What's an airport?

This is a good explanation of the different classes of airspace: http://www.westwingsinc.com/AIRSPACE_EXPLAINED.pdf Learn to read the aeronautical charts and you will know which airport is which and where the airspace restrictions begin and end. Here is a good source of charts online...

Zion National Park (south of) - G7 Timelapse finished with Inspire 1 Flights

Great video but just FYI: http://www.nps.gov/zion/learn/management/lawsandpolicies.htm Aircraft-based Remote-controlled Equipment Use of remote-controlled equipment (including but not limited to helicopters, drones, and other aircraft-based equipment) within Zion National Park is prohibited.
