    The Red Tail Hawk

Very cool. I read all the comments about possible bird attacks on our drones. I've always wondered about that. I've never had any problems with large birds, and we have very big Turkey Buzzards here in Texas, but Starlings are a different matter1 They are very territorial and when you launch a...

    Still No Competition for I2?

We recently suffered a crash of our Inspire 1, one of the earliest models, that always flew great for us, no problems (the crash was operator error...yes, me!). We had an aerial job we were working on so we purchased the Mavic 2 Pro from Best Buy just to complete the job. It worked great. Now...

USA Regulation Question - Elementary School

I have flown all the schools here in Longview, Texas with no problems. I only had to use LAANC when I flew around a school right next to the main airport but even that was no problem and I had spoken to a the FAA representative here. I never went above 200', never needed to to get the best video.

    Scotland's most famous Bridge&Train combo :)

Did Harry Potter wave at you while you were filming the Hogwarts Express? :)

    Fracking the Fog

The fog was ground level. Above it the ceiling of clouds was thousands of feet above me. I only flew the quad copter at about 100" to make sure I cleared the crane and I was just above the fog. Ironically, I had VLOS through the entire flight. The fog was not as thick looking up through it as it...

    Fracking the Fog

Shot this the other day at an oil field fracking site in East Texas. It was my first time at such a place...very interesting. What do y'all (as they say here) think?

    Inspire 1 (original) distance??

If I wanted to I could fly well over 1,600' but I have trouble seeing the drone that far and, frankly, I've needed to go that far to get the shots I want. However, I generally loose the video signal after 1,000 or so. It doesn't totally disappear but it goes in an out and sometimes disappears...

    Oklahoma City From Above!

Beautiful...wish it was longer. Add to it over time with more shots of the city. Then sell it to the Chamber of Commerce or some other entity that does economic development for OK City.

Actual Prop life for the I1

I check my props frequently and I haven't hit anything, ever and I have the same four props on our I1 that came with in 2014...even have the old prop locks which I also check and are in great shape. I fly, on average 15-20 times per year to gather video, take photos or for practice. It really...

    Race to the Bottom

We have lost several jobs in recent months for aerial work even though I have years of experience and am Part 107 certified. The reason, "I have a friend who has a drone." These "friends" are not certified, say they don't know or care about FAA rules (hey, this is Texas...people here chose what...

How much does you Inspire drift

Our Inspire 1 has always been pretty stable. When I launch, I usually go up to maybe 10-15 feet immediately, since I never shoot video or photos 2' off the ground. I check the craft's responsiveness at 10-15', go through all the other checks using the controller and iPad. Then I fly around just...

    Indoor flight recommendations

Excellent suggestions, especially #2. I've flown indoors several times. You never know where air is coming from even when doors and windows are shut and HVAC is turned off. If you look down at your tablet screen for even a quick look, your craft could drift into a wall or machinery. KNOW WHERE...

    HDMI output to another tablet?

This is by no means cheap but if you really want to impress a client, get an Atomos Sumo 19" monitor with record capabilities. Right now they have a special going, $1,995. That's a lot but just think, you get a beautiful monitor that will show you what the video you are shooting really looks...

Incredible video shot with Inspire 2 and X7

It says on YouTube it was shot in Northern Norway. I wonder if they would be willing to allow an old fart like me to retire there?!?! STUNNING!!!
