Just got a reply from DJI Sales US on my inquiry to purchase the DJI OSMO stand alone, I didn't even ask about the X5, seems like a canned copy and paste answer:

I agree with James Munro and PB30X. DJI made the Inspire 1 with a universal camera mount to swap with newer cameras and the cameras to future devices. It's ruined by the fact you need to buy bundles in order to make use of their "ecosystem" Imagine if you had to buy a whole new car each time...

That's right, I've personally backed the SteadXP product on Kickstarter and will be using with with my GH4s. We'll see how it turns out next year. I feel like I will have this product in my bag before I ever see the DJI handheld device. =P

I've given up waiting and have ordered the CAME TV Single. Some demo videos from Cheesy Cam and Dave Dugdale have surfaced and it's looking pretty good to me. I'll be using it with a GH4 and will almost definitely be getting better results. I really wanted the handheld device to come out in...

I don't believe many people will be using it for still images on the ground but more for steady cam type 4K video.

Well it's clearly not coming out in Q2. If only they would update the release date or just cancel it altogether. I did ask [email protected] and was also told to just keep checking the website which translates to "we have no idea" I'm also considering the GoPro route or one of the mini CAME-TV...

Is everyone still hopeful that this hasn't turned into vapourware? I've been looking at alternatives via my GH4, unfortunately the Ronin M results are looking very disappointing.

That was added to the feature page when it was first announced. I'm looking forward to when we can preorder it. =)
