Putting in my two cents... I've been flying since 1.8 and upgraded to 1.9. I experienced slight loss of control on 1.9. I would suddenly experience loss of altitude at a relatively slow rate, but I couldn't correct other than slow descent. I luckily was only about 10 feet off the ground...
