The quality of the footage at 120fps is garbage. Pretty much unusable for any professional work. At least it was as of the last time I tested it (over a year ago). It's possible something changed from then via FW upgrades, but I don't do those anymore. YMMV
Thanks for the info. I was hoping to try your combo to further improve the performance and reliability (especially during the high stress shoots). Currently running a modded version of the latest FW. But can't seem to rollback to .0010FW on AC now. Errors out everytime. Guess I'll be...
Probably same way Sony is selling RAW unlock for the FS5 for $500. Then Convergent Design is selling the 7Q+ to capture it for $1800. Oh and tack on another $1000 for SSD's to record that RAW on. And finally another $1000 for the RAW license for the recorder.
Looks like 1 on each side from the back straddling the I-beam on the tail. The original photo shows it more clearly. My guess is that the batteries are close to half their original size / capacity in order to keep CG similar to current model.
Misleading for sure. I'm wondering if they are licensed to transcode out to ProRes via Cinelight, what's the additional cost or complication of having the camera record straight to ProRes and make everyone's life much simpler?
Thanks for the confirmation. Seems strange and confusing that they'd put that up on their X5R page if they have no actual licensing or other affiliation with the codec.
Can any of you owners / operators confirm if this is true? If so, what flavors of ProRes are available? It's one of the only reasons I've held off on the X5R purchase.
