    Cold Weather Inspire Deaths

I just don't get how DJI can possibly justify implementing a LVC(low-voltage-cutoff)/shutdown mid flight, regardless of conditions or the health status of the battery. There's no way they should give priority to protecting the battery instead of the aircraft in flight. That is just plain...

Crazy... But Inspire 1 for fun?

Do it. I bought mine for fun and love it. It flies really well, almost like a 60 sized rc helicopter. Once it is in the air, high and away(my house is backed into a nature reservation), my 5 year old boy loves flying it. I have attached his "Transformers" figures to the Inspire, rotated the...

Possible to fly Inspire 1 with a flag dangling on the landing gears ?

I saw it done on tv/documentary(if you can even call it that...). They used an Inspire to carry a storm warning flag in high wind conditions. Video here: at 16:15 , 16:35, 16:50 and 18:40.

Specs changes - firmware changes - dBm changes and how it works

If all these "spec" changes are even remotely true, which I am beginning to think they are, then DJI is really just out to make life difficult for themselves. So as it stands now, there are currently 3 remote controller versions, 658A/B/C and at least 2 versions of the aircraft - 1410/1510...

Inspire 1 new propulsion system with 420KV motors and new prop mounting/locking mechanism

agree completely. 350Kv versus 410Kv motor in itself does not mean much. For folks familiar with brushless motors, using r/c cars as an example, all else being equal, a 350Kv motor would spin at a lower RPM, but with greater torque, while a 410Kv motor will spin at a higher RPM, but with lower...

    My first fly-away :(

I would err on the side of caution. I always try to take off on a level surface if possible. In the cases when i do take off from an un-leveled surface, i find the gimbal is not level after take off and it takes a couple of minutes before the gimbal adjusts itself. Another thing i tend to do is...

Increasing Range of Inspire 1 Lightbridge system

Definitely not an issue, Inspire has plenty of range beyond that - as long as there is a clear signal line of sight that is not blocked by trees, etc... Additionally, i have found that if you flew over water, the signal reception is better - could be because the signals are not blocked and...

Increasing Range of Inspire 1 Lightbridge system

Yes, completely stock. At 5km out, I had to make sure antennas were pointed squarely at the Inspire. Had both video feed and rc. Was able to hang around for 45 seconds taking videos and pics. Range of 5.25km with windsurfer reflectors and 4.75km without.

Increasing Range of Inspire 1 Lightbridge system

Above all done using TB47 and in ATTI mode.

Increasing Range of Inspire 1 Lightbridge system

In stock in stock form, I have flown out to 4.5km, got back with 15% battery left for round trip distance of over 9km on a TB47. With a homemade windsurfer attachment(all stock otherwise), I got out to 5.25km before turning back towards home. Hit some headwind on the way back, ate into my...

    IOS 9

I did test fly my Inspire with latest IOS 9 on both ipad Air and Iphone 6. Everything worked as before, can't tell anything different other than character fonts.

    Be careful with Waypoints

well, there's a caveat though... DJI requires a minimum distance between way points before they can be set. Not sure what the distance is, but i think it was like 5m or something like that. This probably means that you cannot set 2 way points within 5m or each other even if it is for altitude...

    Be careful with Waypoints

Yup. Just click the C1 button and set a couple more way points in between in order to generate the "curve". Same thing applies to height and lateral plane. As an example, in order to trace the above path as close as possible, i would have set a total of 4 to 5 way points instead of 2. To be...

Inspire 1 vs Inspire 1 Pro

I think 20% is a good number. that's just my opinion. bear in mind also that DJI has built additional margins into the intelligent flight battery. 0% does not mean the battery is drained and damaged, it is more like DJI's cut-off limit. Having said that, unless i am having a lot of fun and...

Inspire 1 vs Inspire 1 Pro

If you are comfortable landing your TB47 with X% battery left, then you should be comfortable landing your TB48 with X*4500/5700(%) left. If you are comfortable landing your TB48 with Y% battery left, then you should be comfortable landing your TB47 with Y*5700/4500(%) left. Both will leave...
