Jankrzic, Just so you know, the android platform is missing features like Youtube Streaming and Flight Simulator. There is no telling when those features will be added, if ever, so if you are purchasing new, you should probably stick with the Apple device so you will not have to compromise.

Demented1, I want to say, that with such a new, expensive device, there are too many ways that it can go wrong. If the I1 was a year old and firmware updates made it much more stable, it would be easier to determine if you have a good buy vs. a lemon. Even if you have a warranty, many users...

I don't disagree about conflicts. If the Controller can tell you that the firmware is not up to date, why can't it (1) Download the Firmware and (2) Give you the option of updating it, and (3) Give you firmware update progress right from the $500 controller of a $3000 device? Putting firmware...

With that being said, I think we can all agree that the firmware update process is rather primitive for such an advanced device.

Sorry it didn't seem obvious to me because I never encountered it. It is just one more thing to not do. I consider myself lucky that they even printed the reason.

PSA: The Inspire One does not like two firmware files on the card at the same time. Save yourself some time and make sure only one exists...
