Just a quick update: Got my email from DJI that it's now been repaired. Bad video board on the transmitter. Got my shipping notice 10 minutes later. That was 2 weeks + 2 days after they notified me it had been received. *happy dance* :)

Could be comparing it to the Parrot AR Drone. I think you can SSH into that and do some modding... Totally not applicable to the Inspire. Though I'd love to be able to link into mine somehow and find out why my remote doesn't work... :(

From what I've read, the gon# and goff# commands only turn off/on the "tracker" feature, which sends the data to their Website. Turning that off does not disable GPS or data. I had mine since the beginning, following the advice on Sams's Blog, which stated you don't need that. Mine was accurate...

This thing was actually not that hard to set up. It might not be configured properly for data though. Until I did that, the GPS accuracy was not so great, and it kept sending me to the chinese website to see the map. After I configured the proper APN as per the settings for the service provider...

Tried to update the TX again, but nothing happens at all. Just red light on TX (I1 is off). Waited for a couple minutes, but nothing happened. No TXT file or anything on the USB. :(
