No, to conduct this test I didn't need to disconnect any motor. Just checked each motor with a balanced propeller attached (brand new propellers are actually already balanced) using the laser method. Just replaced the imbalanced motor, now my inspire is flying butter smooth with the 45mm!

I've also been getting jelo on the 42mm of the 14-42mm I just replaced the propellers, and now i'm getting less vibration. I now suspect that my propellers were unbalanced, causing the vibrations. Going to balance propellers using this laser method as shown below Will update what happens
