We have a P3A that we use for training and then the I1 for search and rescue. PM coming.

The set up we have has an excellent resolution FLIR, DJI XT, which is made for the I1. The add-on video camera is only for orientation purposes and would not serve well for still photos.

It is correct that you don't need a waiver to safely drop an object in SAR, but we put it in our COA anyway just to cover the bases as we also did with night flights which are not covered.

Our agency just added the XT to our Inspire1 so now we day/night capabilities. We also added an additional video camera on the nose so we can have both feeds at the same time. Anyone else using their I1 for LE purposes?

Our agency just got this one and it seems to work just fine on the Inspire1. Can't beat the price and it is mechanical and not electronic requiring an extra TX/RX. This is super easy to install.

Just passed mine with 83%. I'm happy with that since some of the missed questions were off the wall and confusing. Especially the "marijuana" question! It's behind me and I have the cert to prove it! Hoping to make our agency's drone program one of the best in the state.

Honestly, between the FAA's study guide and another Part 107 guide I found for $10, plus a "How to Read Sectional Maps" I found for free, I believe I will be completely prepared to take my test next Wednesday. Certainly not against anyone trying to make a buck, but for the guy trying to scrape...

I purchased it and it seems to be a very good study guide. Seems to be a good investment for $10! Not sure I can bite off $99 for some of the other courses though. Not sure if you'll get 10 times as much info. It really helped me understand the NAS "upside down cake."

I don't think one can do the application w/o passing the Part 107 test at a CATS testing center. After you pass, THEN you can apply as it asks for your cert # unless I am missing something. (which is totally possible) Scheduled to take my test on the 31st.
