As far as i know, if only the gimbal part was damaged while there are no damage to the camera and the lens then we can only replace or repair the gimbal.
But the final result of your case still should be determined after we received your X5.
This happened to me on my third flight when I somehow forgot to calibrate before take off. Landed safely but it was a scary experience. Will not make that mistake again.

I've tried doing this and as per the manual I do not get red and green blinking lights on the camera or any sounds from the aircraft. Only the yellow blinking light on the drone is continuously blinking.
