    Best propellers for inspire 1

DJI actually recommend quick release props and are making self tightening props harder to get all the time, and in fairness I think the current QR props are pretty good. But I am not convinced that they are as safe as the self tightening props with prop locks. When I first got an Inspire 1 just...

    Best propellers for inspire 1

Well from my point of view, self tightening props with prop locks are still the best. But they are probably a bit noisier than quick release props. My setup is such that I never take my props off for transport, so it is a case of take the Inspire out of it's foam base, and switch it on, so quick...

Hi OzzyScot, I'm also in Queensland. Where in Queensland are you?

Wants to land itself from 1 metre off ground

I will try it with the landing gear lowering automatically turned off, although I will be surprised if it's that because it happens even if I lower the landing gear manually at 4 or 5 metres above the ground and I descend to about 1 metre and it then decides to put itself down. Unless the ground...

Wants to land itself from 1 metre off ground

Yes I am aware of what happens. Without wanting to sound like a smartxxxx, I have been flying for many years and with the Inspire, I have landed many hundeds of times. That did sound like a smartxxxx, but I'm just trying to say I'm not totally new to landing the Inspire, but this is quite...

Wants to land itself from 1 metre off ground

No there were no interference problems. In fact, there seemed to be no problems at all except, it decided to put itself down, and definitely not because of battery level being low. It landed fine on soft grass, but like you, I would have put it down a bit softer.

Wants to land itself from 1 metre off ground

I have noticed the last 2 times I've flown that after a normal flight, I get to about one metre from the ground (landing gear just down) and then the Inspire puts itself down regardless of what I do with the sticks. I have tried pushing up on the throttle, but nothing happens. I realize this can...

    DJI Mavic released

In Australia, the onus is on the drone operator to worry about being insured, licenced etc. That's why TV stations ask if anyone has got drone footage rather than using one themselves - puts all the burden of responsibility onto the drone owner and they not only get free footage, but no...

Upgrade Firmware or leave well enough alone?

Thanks. I have not upgraded firmware since 1.6. Just got delayed and then started hearing reports that made me think I might be better to leave it alone while it's flying OK. So I'm wondering if the 15 degrees C applies to me, with 1.6 firmware. I'm thinking not, but not sure what version that...

Upgrade Firmware or leave well enough alone?

Thanks for the reply. I'll do it indoors from now on. Plenty of places to do it indoors.

Upgrade Firmware or leave well enough alone?

I live in Queensland, Australia, and have never had to think about battery low temp. problems, but if it's now 15"C then that becomes an issue here in winter too. What is the battery heater you speak of, that uses 2-3%?? That sounds like it's an electric heater of some sort. Is that correct? I...

Upgrade Firmware or leave well enough alone?

Can I ask another stupid question about IMU calibrations? Does it have to be done outdoors / where it will have good GPS and satellite links? I have always done it outdoors, on a table levelled etc. etc. but it is obviously harder to keep the aircraft cool under these conditions. I do this...

Complete Failure of INSPIRE 1 during flight - Dropped from 400 feet

Just wondering why the battery was at 60% if you just took off and flew vertically straight up to 400 ft.? Did you take off with a partially used battery? I have been told never to do that and the result can be that the battery can drop to zero and the aircraft can literally fall out of the sky...

Suggestion: DJI GO "PRO" and DJI GO "NOT Pro"

The Inspire 1 and the Phantom 3 are both fantastic tools and certainly can both produce "professional" results. ie results capable of being used in marketing campaigns etc. But to say they both have the same capability is simply not true. One of the most useful features of the Inspire is...
