Asked to sell footage. How much?

Speak to a media lawyer in your home territory to start with regarding both the acquirement of footage and then global licensing. Gathering footage for commercial purposes will require you holding the necessary permissions from people if they are deemed as recognisable or featured. Similarly...

Asked to sell footage. How much?

Sure. Plenty of food for thought for pgaucher.

Asked to sell footage. How much?

Well the footage was gathered privately and for personal pleasure. The fact that it was then posted in the public domain and a person or entity would now like to use that footage pursuant to paying a licensing fee to do so, means that the nature of it's use determines the permissions required...

Asked to sell footage. How much?

Cburns One example - http://filmlondon.org.uk/working-boroughs-film And CAA's document on UAV and filming for commercial gain - https://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=33&pagetype=65&appid=11&mode=detail&id=415 I'm really not arguing about the right to film in a public place in general...

Asked to sell footage. How much?

If you want to sell it on, then do so with your own release stating that it is up to the licensee to seek any relevant permissions regarding use. I'd also find out what they want to use it for - the nature of it's use really determines it's value.

Asked to sell footage. How much?

Yup, specific to filming the police in public places. Not to filming for commercial gain. I'm just offering professional advice. As you said earlier, time for bed, do as you will gents.

Asked to sell footage. How much?

Yup, it's relative. News and documentary are a different criteria to being filmed for commercial gain, which I believe is the point of pgaucher's post and the offer to buy the footage from him. And lawyers, the ASA and any commercial client love technicalities. Just trying to be helpful and...

Asked to sell footage. How much?

Actually you do need relative permissions to film in a public place in the UK. It depends on the nature of the use. Any filming for commercial gain requires permissions from councils and notification given to private households by way of notice of intent should they raise an objection to their...

Asked to sell footage. How much?

First things first. You've posted it on YouTube and it is easily ripped at full resolution from that public site. Remove that posting or repost as others have stated with a watermark that crosses the whole image. When it comes to selling the footage, well, you enter into the realms of...
