Inspire 1 V2 with extras (BC, Canada)

Edited by moderator For non-local interested parties, I have discovered that shipping batteries, especially TB48's is a real pain. One has to ship them as dangerous goods, Class 9, UN 3481, and purchase 3 TDG labels from www.iata.org at $19 to $23 USD each. Any advice on a means to legally ship...

    USA Flight Apps

I use Foreflight. As a commercial operator doing most of my work within 5 nautical miles of at least one Class E airspace aerodrome at any time, I am required to check for and file NOTAM's for every mission, plus have access to current charts and CFS (Canada Flight Supplement). A Foreflight...

Inspire 2 preorder up on DJI site

So has DJI stated somewhere that payloads for the Inspire 1 (X3, Z3, X5, X5R, XT) will not be compatible with the Inspire 2? The features that appeal to me on the I2 are redundancy related - dual IMU, compass and batteries. I see this as a kind of ETOPS but for UAV's whereby I don't have to...

Zenmuse Z3 - first photos and impressions

Bitrate when shooting in 4K/30 fps is 60 mbits per second. I didn't find any 1080p/60 fps footage shot using the Z3 on my laptop, but I know I have some on my office workstation. See Quicktime Movie Inspector screenshots below. See my posts on page 3 for zoomed in/out jpg images. I will post...

Zenmuse Z3 - first photos and impressions

Yes certainly. Next time I fly, I will try any and analyze the maximum bitrate attainable with the Z3. I say 'analyze' because I don't have professional video production equipment/software. So, whatever PowerDirector 15 can glean ftom the footage, I will share that with you.

Zenmuse Z3 - first photos and impressions

User error on the Travel Mode issue. The troubleshooting exercise was being done on my kitchen table and it was too shiny. I put a black book underneath the aircraft and it happily entered Travel Mode. What a relief! Serves me right for trying to do all this when I am tired and well past my...

Zenmuse Z3 - first photos and impressions

I have been working with DJI Support to resolve my video transmission lag and break-up issue. And it is strictly a Z3 specific problem. I have been flying the X3 on the same firmware (1.9.1.30) with no issues at all. One positive is that at least the techie who is assisting me has been...

SFOC (Canada) - question about night time operations

My company has a standing SFOC but presently limited to daytime operations only. I am drafting a new SFOC application to serve as a renewal, and would like to include dusk and night time operation. To be honest, I have never flown the Inspire 1 at dusk or when it is dark. How does one obtain...
