    Flying with landing gear down

I fly with gear down often as well. I have been in several situations over the years where I had to land quickly, a few times I have hit the ground before the legs were fully down. The gimbal arm on the X5R is not terribly robust, and the center pivot is fragile as well. Repairs are not cheap...

    Inspire 1 in 2020

I've owned an Inspire 1.2 RAW for four years, and still fly it regularly. For many of the things I do it is the perfect system, and I have even been hired by other drone pilots in the area to fly missions that their P4P or Mavic just could not accomplish with the results their clients expected...

    Cadence error when recording raw

....Seems like I saw something on this a while back, cannot find it now..... Has anyone had a problems with a frame cadence error in their RAW files from their X5R? I get them randomly, and they are irritating. Basically, the video will hold up for a frame or two, then skip three or four frames...

    Inspire 1 v2 props

Agreed. I do not know about the 1345T's but I can certainly recommend the folding props from KopterMax. They are not cheap, but I am getting better flight time and I could actually fly out of a tree if I had to.

Just got my first drone!! Inspire 1 V2.0

Get very comfortable flying in Atti mode. Time spent in the simulator is worthwhile for basic coordination drills, but the sim is not much like real life when it comes to dealing with unplanned events. Atti skills will make all the difference in the world when things go south on you.

    Weird GPS loss

I agree -- atti practice is a necessity, and I have had to thread my way down thru trees with no GPS and plenty of crosswind more than once. I have not flown much lately (atti or otherwise) and although that was almost certainly part of my problem, I think still think something else was going on...

Is the X5 gimbal replaceable apart from the lens/camera?

Yup -- $300 and change will be your repair on that, only DJI has the part and can do the job. If the cable is damaged, the cost will be closer to $400. What you are seeing is a notoriously weak point in the X5 design....not sure what that arm is made of, I suspect pot metal, which is...

    Weird GPS loss

Okay, here's one I have not seen before. I was shooting a rural property with my Inspire 1.2 RAW, had a good satellite count on liftoff, did my usual "hold at 15 AGL" so that I could walk under aircraft and listen for anything unexpected and also check battery cell condition, then I started my...

How much does you Inspire drift

My Inspire 1.2 R has always been rock solid even in a decent crosswind ... until today, when things got ugly. Will reviews posts to see if this is a new issue, may start a new thread.

    Video Editing Software

You mentioned 'stitching music,' if you're just editing audio try Audacity. It's free, and it works pretty well. A good free video edit is Lightworks, although there are severe output limitations without the paid 'Pro' license. The cool thing about it is that if you have an X5R, it can see the...

    Bricked tx?

I did firmware updates this morning and now problems abound. The 1.9 to my Raw went okay, but my master remote is having some issues. It was able to download the upgrade but could not install it, showing a message that I already had 1.6. That's fine, but now the master wants to charge my...

The Truth About The Part 107 Written Test...

I bought the Aerodrome class, which wasn't bad, and I also took the FAA sample test a few times. What helped me a lot was pouring thru all the pilot training videos on Youtube. Some of them are a little bit vintage, but most of them are brief and very much by-the-book for part 61 pilots.
