A UAV pilot in Calgary was arrested for much less than this. Never fly above 400 ft especially in a aerodrome traffic zone. If you looked at a local radar screen from an ATC tower, you would be surprised how many manned aircraft there are flying all over the place. Some at or below 1000.

Sims are a limited training device. The do not get you to handle the aircraft in various environments you may encounter in real flight. So sims alone will no make you a pro pilot. Like low batt and temp. Wind gusts, trees..... And so much more do not exist in the sim... Dji should do more work...

In Canada, you need an sfoc to be certified commercially.

My rate is 175 per hour. This gig is not cheap and should not be viewed as such. I was charging $80 an hour and an engineer said that was too cheap. How much you charge is a reflection on how professional you are....

Wow that is a bog no fly zone. There should be a way to disable it if you are cleared by ATC

I would agree that the system in place is for safety. But there needs to be balance. IE the DJI autopilot kicked in and did a RTH when I was not expecting it almost causing a crash as it tried fly to home position when it was not safe to do so. Will the ipad be able to run at all with the charge? I am testing it now and the IOS is running down even as I have a battery hooked up to the RC which is charging.
