Bad cell on brand new TB48 battery

Amazon ordered TB48 battery arrived today, had some difficulty getting the lights to illuminate when attaching to charger. Had to turn on battery at least twice before charging engaged. Fully charged in just over an hour, placed it in my Inspire, FW on SD card updated battery and immediately upon completion of update, received red banner indicating battery cell damage. Contacted Amazon and battery being shipped back tomorrow for refund.

My understanding is that you just plug the battery in without turning it on first... Or would that make a difference?
Turning the battery on first is only required if the state of charge is already >95% (Page 21 of the manual - Charging the Intelligent Flight battery, Note #2)

It wasn't responding by just plugging it in to charger therefore, I turned it on and from that point it appeared to charge normal.
