Can firmware delete itself?

Good morning. I have spent the last hour checking everything on my drone. Its going back for repair (GPS problem) so I like to take videos of everything. For an hour all was ok and the very last time I turned everything on suddenly it is coming up stating the AC requires a firmware update. I thought there possibly could be a new firmware released this morning but apparently not. My drone has been updated for the last 2 weeks. Everything fine for an hour. However suddenly it requires an update?

SO is it possible for it to wipe itself? Anyone have any ideas whats going on?

No not really

What FW version is the app showing for the controller in the About screen ?

It's more likely it's either an app bug or it's not picked up its not upto date till now.

Unfortunatly its packaged up and ready to be sent. I am assuming like you just a little app problem. If it does decide to delete itself whenever I have serious problems. Out of the box, brand new, its had a dead battery, GPS problems and the camera does not centre after calibration. Thats why its going in for repair. Now this, it seems like I have received an awful quality Inspire 1. :-(
