Delay in delivery of inspire1

+1, except that they should adopt a policy of charging within a few days of shipment. Difficult to believe that their issues were not apparent/anticipated on the announcement date.

Still grateful for their innovative product and reasonable price.

i hear ya..but it does seem like they want to get it right. it is better than having a recall or pissed off customers.
i get the feeling that when this hits the market they want it as perfect of possible and that is a good thing.
i must admit i am gonna stick with my order only because of what a friend who has flown a beta unit has said. i am sure it will be far better than the vision plus.
 
Transparency is the key.... DJI should come on here and tell everyone what the problem is with the delays. We've all shelled out a lot of cash to the dealers or directly to DJI preordering the inspire. That's a lot of money sitting in various bank accounts earning interest which would have better off in our own accounts I'm sure. I'm still excited to receive mine whenever that may be. But seeing as I ordered from the states and I live alls the way down in Australia I'm not holding my breath it will be before Jan 2015 comes to pass [emoji17].

•The first round of new Inspire 1’s will start shipping at the end of December. Shipments will be prioritized based on how early you made your order, with those who ordered first receiving their units first. Information on subsequent shipping rounds will be released soon.

Really cool from DJI that they added the carry case. It is why I did not cancel my order. Let's gamble!
 
I pre-ordered on Nov 14 direct from DJI and have received no email other than the one sent on Nov 28 apologizing for the delay. I would not get my hopes up based upon a random post on a message board. Put this in the "if it sounds too good to be true it probably is" category. My two cents CDN.

In fact, any email in my inbox asking for a response with credit card authorization info is a non starter for me and I hope everyone else.

Ummm I got it in my email. Def real.
 
Yup, I just chatted online with the DJI customer service and a lady called Anna confirmed that a free case would be provided with my order. I tried to get more information about the case itself (will it be a hard cover case we can use for air travel) but the line mysteriously got cut and didn't get any answers. Good news is that DJI seems to be taking this seriously and is ready to compensate people who pre-order their products. I'm no specialist, but I would assume a carry case must be worth at least $150 so not a bad deal.
 
Yep confirmed, also asked the question if I purchased through a dealer will I also receive a free case.... She said yes and I've screen shot saved the chat ;-)

Also continued my chat with them.... It's a hard case so she told me. And shipping date first week of Jan from factory to the dealers worldwide. Seeing as I prepurchased from the U.S. And I'm in Australia I'm guessing end of Jan start of Feb.... Bugger i'l be away overseas on holiday then :-(. But should have a great present waiting for me when I get home :)

In my industry - well, any industry for that matter, when a client is told that a product or service will be delivered on a specific date and it is not delivered it reflects poorly. In this case the date was set by DJI of their own choosing. They could have chosen to be realistic with their actual date but keeping true to corporate BS marketing tactics they chose to bait their customers into "Pre-ordering" their product so once your money is with them you won't be tempted to spend your $3,000+ on another product. Honestly, if people had been told that the Inspire wouldn't be delivered until January how many would have explored other options? How many people were planning on getting or giving the Inspire for the holidays? I personally had a large trip planned in which the Inspire played a crucial role. Now I find myself scrambling to make alternate arrangements.

Great technology from DJI. I have a lot of money invested in several of their products and for the most part, love them all. Major disappointment for their apparent bullshitting and lack of transparency as to WHY they set a shipping date that was unrealistic and beyond their own capabilities. Very much hoping that when the Inspire is finally in hand it isn't plagued by rush job inadequacies and software glitches.
 
I just got confirmed from a Norwgian DJI deal that the fist batch will arrive with a hard case, but i also see that they have raise the price by 1600 NOK, thats about 225 $. wonder why???
 
Great news, I hope we get the cases in the UK as well, can't wait for the Inspire 1, really looking forward to flying it.
