I've been noticing more postings about ESC Failures. What seems to be the contributing factor to cause this?

I didn't state that there was an increase in ESC failures. My question was if anyone knew of any contributing factors that caused ESC failures. After reading about ESC failures since 2014 in both the Inspire and Phantom forums I wondered what might have caused these failures. You made some very educated remarks about ESCs last year in this posting:

An example of my thinking is could obstructed propellers cause a voltage surge that could cause an ESC to fail or weaken the ESC for future failures. I'm just an inquisitive old fart that after over a half century in Aviation since the 1950s I've learned that most failures have a contributing cause.
