    Hi all,
I just wanted to post this video:

whilst the topic has been discussed at length in other threads the use of a drone in this situation was the only way it could be documented like this.
Watch out for more on Discovery Channel in the coming months!

Very cool footage. I wish there was more monitoring to end this practice. Palau is paradise.

The Royal Australian Navy provide and fund a patrol boat here that goes out regularly. A couple of times a year regional exercises are held combining naval and air surveillance. Satellite tracking also plays a role in monitoring however many illegal boats don't show up this way. Aerial surveillance with HiRes cameras provide evidence that can be used in court. The location of the boats spotted from the plane are relayed to the patrol boat which then chases them down and brings them back in for processing.

It's meant to send a message to the other Vietnamese fishermen thinking of coming to Palau to fish illegally.
