Hi. First real post here so please excuse the question.

ok, so if you were given a 12km cable run to film (pictures and video) at 30m height and 5m height, how would you go about it if you were given the coordinates by the client which mapped out the route to be filmed?

Would you use a dedicated mapping app or enter the coordinates somehow into the Dji app. The route has to be flown 3 times over a couple month period and the same cords used each time

Honestly... my opinion... If I had to do what your asking...
(and see my signature below for what I have to work with...)
I would use FPV Mission Planner App and start laying out segments out and back over sections ...
Break it up into 1km chunks or so... maybe a bit more...
Lay out waypoints at each picture snapshot location...
Fly out taking snapshots... many waypoints
Fly back taking video... fewer waypoints...
I would tweek the altitude at each point to follow the terrain and such...
Once you had each segment (limited by battery and antenna range) figured out and saved...
Repeat as needed...
I also would highly recommend having a DBSMOD antenna on your RC...
The app needs constant contact to work...

Just my thoughts... If I had to make it work with my stuff...
