New firmware available 1.2.1.06

Ok... I don't really get how the logs show what is getting the new FW. Just see which version and that it was a success. DJI has seemingly been straight forward with what problems are addressed with every FW update I was just referring to the fact that it's possible they could have slipped in other FCC FW data. Fully aware that the RC's do not require the new FW.
So in summary, I'm not getting two things, one how it's possible to see from those logs that the airframe has had no change and two why the reluctance of everyone to update if it only updates the batteries FW logic.

18mb firmware update and it's only the batteries? im having a hard time believing it's "only" the battery software that's being changed. 18mb is a lot of coding, but whatever the case, i ran the update and had no problems except for my position sensor is still inop.

Applied the update, and can confirm it only updated the battery firmware. My 7 batteries all took the change, and in a test flight this morning, all went well.
Ditto on the 7 batts, all went fast and well. Other than the short amount of time how are you able to confirm its only updating the batts?

You are aware of this?;

The log of the update makes it pretty clear: 7 Batteries updated, and four flights, each time confirming the software is the same or older - so no changes to the flight systems.

The flights today were fine, my only issue at present is the variable change in vertical height reported by the app (tends to loose about 1 metre per minute flying, and a slight tendency for the aircraft to move a metre or so vertically when hanging (the two may be connected). I have two machines and they both do the same, so its a firmware issue, not a fault on one aircraft. But no fly-aways or battery faults to-date in the current firmware.

Yah the logs would read like that after all is updated and the bin file is still on the card. Or after update and 1 battery charged over and over will give you the abort result... Just a power on with current FW and FW bin file. Every time you'll get that. How can you be sure the AC didn't take a FW update and then every batt after that will give you the success story (lol) with the beforehand outdated FW. All that said, yes I do believe it's only the batt taking the FW, due to the lack of time the update takes. Wouldn't take that bet though.

Wow just read my last post. **** reluctant to sleep kids. But is what I'm trying to get across wrong?... I've been known to do that from time to time. Please let me know (anybody) if my logic is skewed.

Just look at the log I posted earlier., it was the first power up after putting the bin file on the card and only the battery was updated.
If other things were updated they would have shown up in that first upgrade operation. You're right that they wouldn't when upgrading subsequent batteries of course.

Simple, the package always includes the latest version of everything. If you hadn't installed 1.2.1.3 and now loaded 1.2.1.6 then all components that were updated in 1.2.1.3 would also have been flashed in addition to the battery.

That's easy to derive from the version checking process that is detailed in the log, all components' current version are compared to the version in the package.

Yep! All went well with this upgrade. Will fly later today and report any issues if seen.

Umm...

I did the update and it sounded and seems to be updating correctly on all 7 of my batteries.

Each one was updated sequentially the same so no issues there.

So, after I had it all done I wanted to check in the overall status of the update and then this is the issue I have.

Not sure what it going on but I got these strange results.
