Below are some notes and pics regarding upgrading of the Inspire 1 to the new X5 dampening plate, riser legs, 1345T quick lock mechanism, and making the old case fits. Installing the X5 dampening plate - Quite easy, follow the DJI instructions found on YT () The X3 on the new dampening plate, performance not tested, but should work since this is the same as the Inspire 2.0. Does anyone know what is this lever on the side of the dampening plate for? Installing leg risers - Very simple, don't think need instructions. Use supplied 3M tapes on original legs then stick the risers on. Installing 1345T quick release mechanism - Again very simple. Instructions found here: Now... for the fun part. What needs to be done to fit the upgraded Inspire 1 into the old case? The areas outlined in RED are the areas that needs to be cut out. The central area needs to be cut an inch or so downwards. The four corners for the legs needs to be cut an inch. For cutting the legs corners which is a little tricky as they are very deep in - I used a flat chisel craft blade to slice the sides, then wedge a flat head screwdriver in to force foam out. Finished: Everything fits snugly and the case can close just as easily. As an option, the new 1345T propellers come in boxes that you can stick in the normal slot for propellers, providing additional protection for propellers. Didn't take a photo but realized that the foam section surrounding the X3 gimbal case section can be removed entirely... creating a bigger square hole. When my X5 arrives will see if it can fit in there. Meanwhile, the Inspire 1.0 is now the same as a 2.0 except for the new 420kv mots which while nice to have is not a must upgrade. Let's see when DJI releases it as a propulsion system.
