Remote controller firmware update

Just got my inspire and updated the firmware on the drone with no problem. However the controller won't update no matter what I do. I've followed the steps in DJI's guide repeatedly with no success. Tried to contact their live support but they ended the conversation with a screenshot of the guide after telling me to format the card which I did but couldn't tell them since they ended the conversation. Currently 40 minutes on hold in their customer service number.

I've tried a Usb drive, a card reader and the gimbal to update the drone with no success. Anyone run into any issues with this?

Update. I left the controller plugged into the gimbal for an extended period of time and it finally worked.

Hey Jonathn did you have the gimbal attached to the drone and the drone turned on>?

I did two remote controllers yesterday.

Unzip BIN file, put that on a empty USB.
Turn off remote.
Put USB in.
Turn remote on.
Leave for 20 sec and it will start with a blue led . . . .
Leave for 4 min and LED turns green - thats it.
