Been using these maritime search and rescue strobes to pinpoint position of a/c when against difficult backdrop.

Really rate them -they attach to rear of a/c as shown.

I have a number I no longer need.

Powered by 2x AA batteries.

Attached by 3M Dual Tape.

153g with batteries.

Why? I find it kind of nice to keep track of exactly where my a/c is in relation to trees or white cliffs for that matter.....

Isn't that what your camera and tablet is for?? sorry but I think it's just more weight, less flight time and absolutely unnecessary

Yes

There must be a slightly reduced flight time but I really have not noticed.

I always land with plenty of battery juice anyway.

I only use it for situations where there is aerial obstructions and a "dodgy" backdrop where I may temporary "lose" the a/c for a sec or so.

We have all done the above- this strobe eliminates the "oh sh@t" moments in the above situations.
