I noticed this on the FAA registration site.
Anyone have any experience with this.
I called the FAA and they were clueless. Told me to find out what Iceland required. I'm a little confused, but that doesn't take much.

You must use the paper registration process if

  • You use your aircraft for commercial purposes
  • You use your aircraft for other than hobby and recreation
  • Your aircraft is 55 lbs. or greater
  • You intend to operate your aircraft outside of the United States

Weird. NFI. But by this I should have filed using paper myself then.

Confused, the FAA had no idea what I was talking about.
The guy that answered the phone put me on hold to ask his supervisor and they didn't have a clue.
Not sure just why they would be concerned with someone flying in another country anyway.
