I'm going to be going to Canada (Toronto area) for work this coming week. My work is 100% not related to any flying or photography. I'd like to take the Inspire 1 as I just got entered into the beta program and a requirement is I fly every day.

My question is....are UAVs treated the same in Canada like they are in the USA? Where as, if it's for hobby you don't need a license. I'm not doing any commercial work and will just be making small flights low to the ground.

Also, wondering if I'd have any issues crossing the border.

Don't even think about telling the custom folks you would be doing commercial work....Canada is the worst to get production gear and people into their country...nightmare. Hopefully you will be OK taking it in as just a hobby thing. I love Canada, but they make life miserable for us production people trying to do a little work in their country.
