Interesting video showing X5 adapter and X5 Z-axis stabilization arm.

Has anyone bought the new Z-axis for the X5 and were able to make it work? A friend of mine bought one and it never worked right out of the box. He returned it to DJI and now they are telling him you have to use the X5 adapter in addition to the Z-axis adapter. This seems redundant to me and is...

For those who have had issues with USB module (or think they might)

So if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I would like you to know I have ordered the parts (bits) to copy your transmitter set-up. The most difficult item to find is a high quality right angle USB extension, so I thought I would share this one with the group. Tripp Lite 10" USB Right...

    Osmo Pro/X5 Focus Wheel

Let me know when you or DJI get this working. I think this will be a great addition to the OSMO Pro.

OSMO Pro X5 not working with battery extender

I received a replacement battery extender from DJI on 8/1. It came in original retail packaging. Works great.

OSMO Pro X5 not working with battery extender

Thanks for the update. After going back and forth with DJI support they sent me a RMA and I sent the battery extender in for repair yesterday.

OSMO Pro X5 not working with battery extender

I found this thread on the DJI Forum which gives more details about the problem. http://forum.dji.com/thread-52056-1-1.html

OSMO Pro X5 not working with battery extender

My OSMO Pro X5 works with the battery installed however will not work with the battery extender. The OSMO starts up, indicator flashes green, goes solid green, then immediately shuts down and indicator goes to solid red. After going back and forth with DJI support they sent the following...

Interesting video showing X5 adapter and X5 Z-axis stabilization arm.

You are correct. Now I will have to wait for the “introduction” video for the Z-Axis for the X5R so I can buy the Z-Axis where the description says is works with the X5. See I am learning.

Interesting video showing X5 adapter and X5 Z-axis stabilization arm.

The purpose of my post was to warn others not to make the same mistake I made by seeing the “introduction” video of the Z-Axis with the X5, ordering the only Z-Axis and X5 adapter that is available at the DJI store and believing they would work together. Lesson learned, with DJI seeing should...

Interesting video showing X5 adapter and X5 Z-axis stabilization arm.

So after waiting 50 days for the X5 adapter and Z-Axis stabilizer, they arrived today. I am dismayed that I cannot make the Z-Axis stabilizer work with the X5 because, as Phil at RC Geeks posted today, the spring is too weak to balance the gimbal and camera. I even removed the lens to see if I...

Inspire 1 RC not updating - Instructions on how to reset RC

Here is what I had to do today to update my 658B RC that had firmware version 1.2.XXX 1. First download this RC reset patch file, put it on a USB drive and update the RC with it by inserting USB into RC and then powering up. http://www.weymouth-angling.co.uk/gs_ofdm.bin Turn off the RC after...

Airport Tower Contact: Asking for permission or merely informing

I believe you are correct you will need both the blanket COA and a letter from airport management or apply for a new COA. I have heard through this site that some airports are refusing to issue a letter of agreement and are referring requestors to the FAA site to apply for a new COA (per the...

Airport Tower Contact: Asking for permission or merely informing

The FAA created different rules for Hobbyist flights and for Commercial flights. If you are flying as a hobbyist then you do not have to register your flight but if you are within 5 miles of an airport you need to contact the ATC for that airport (see the file I posted previously for the...

Airport Tower Contact: Asking for permission or merely informing

Yes, the same way an airline pilot can fly a commercial aircraft for work and fly a personal aircraft for pleasure. You must meet the FAA definition of a hobbyist flight to fly as a hobbyist.

Airport Tower Contact: Asking for permission or merely informing

When I contacted a local airport about a hobby flight I was given the attached document outlining the requirements to fly within 5 miles of the airport. I was told to call the tower prior to the flight and the “The Tower Manager will have the final approval”.
