Once again we are in the mainstream news with the drone fraternity in the spotlight.

One crazy report of a near miss in the region of 16ft WTF

We all have the responsibility to do something about anyone we spot flouting the regulations re safety at airport.

One thing that bothers me is that some of the no fly zones NFZ's that many of us professional pilot moan about are totally ineffective. I have had many instances of being unable to fly in relatively safe zones ( I fly with full permission at many airports often FOR the airport) however the NFZ permits me to operate feet away from the end of an active runway. The issue seems to be the way the nfz's are centred on the tower which can maen the threshold of the runway is in an area where the drone is capable of being flown. Please note i use the word capable ..... not permitted!
