My I1v1 took a dive mid-air a few weeks ago while flying on mission. I was flying at 180ft on a clear morning when it just dropped straight down onto grass - I suspect a motor failure, but I cannot test or confirm which one. My heart sank as I looked up right at the time the AC just tumbled from the air.
This unit has about 65 hours of flight time, 25 of which were with the X5R camera which may have contributed to the accelerated wear on the motors. After the crash I was able to connect to the aircraft and extract the flight records, all records indicate normal operation until an immediate failure in mid-air. Aircraft powers on and connects to remote and DJI GO app. The body and center worm motor is off-center and the arms have snapped in a few places - although the cables to the motor are still attached.
The AC was carrying my X5R with Oly 12mm lens at the time. The lens somehow survived the drop, but the gimbal arms all snapped, and the sensor tumbled away. I have a hunch, with the right cable, the sensor and brain of the X5R would still work, but the first of the 3 gimbal motors (top one connected to brain) grinds when spun. I'm going to send the camera off to DJI for repair, but I have since replaced the AC and hoping the parts will be useful for someone else.
I'm selling the Aircraft with original flight case (without battery) and am open to offers.
Thanks!
