Initial review and observations
Size and Feel:

- 5.5” is a good size for Mavic Pro as the screen is a bit bigger than iPhone 6s / 7 or Google Pixel style phones
- No official mount from DJI so we created our own, I am sure theirs will be a bit lighter.
- The Mavic Pro w/ iPad Mini 4 (my go-to setup) weighs in at 980.63g, so the difference to me is negligible.
- The CrystalSky 5.5” over the iPad Mini 4 seem more compact and “tighter” on the Mavic Pro controller than the iPad Mini 4. (Non-Official mount)
- Metal bezel and back are ridged and textured to prevent scratching.
- Buttons have a solid “click” feeling to them which reassure they are being pressed.
- Ports are all on one side making wire clutter easier to manage if you are plugged in.
- There is no AC power on the CrystalSky 5.5” screen.
Setup and Initial software review:
- Setup was extremely easy. It even connected to your 802.1x authentication network with ease. Typical DJI Go setup with activation.
- The country list seems to be in no apparent order which made it confusing to find our country during setup.
- Screen even though not matte seems to be have much less glare than iPad mini 4.

Overall the screen is very well built fit and finish wise, and seems to be a decent size and weight. The hot-swappable battery is def a plus even if it sticks out a bit from the back. The customizable buttons are nice for quick changes. I will be doing some daylight testing tomorrow out in direct Florida sunlight during the day and compare it to the iPad Mini 4 and iPhone 6s. I will also check out the SRE feature which seems to enhance certain parts of the image on the screen.

If you have any questions or features you want to see please let me know and I will be more than happy to try and answer them for you.

Thanks so much for taking the time to post this. Looking forward to your initial thoughts on brightness!

are they delayed like all their other products........? they take your order and money and leave you hanging for 3 months..... like the other dji products

last time I spent $1000 and waited forever........... at least othe Co's dont charge you until its pulled and ready for ship.......

GS Pro is iOS only AFAIK, but there will be a version of DJI Pilot for Crystalsky and that is based around the GS Pro functionality I believe..

Edit: Sorry, I should add the DJI Pilot is for the M200, not intended to be available for Inspire and below AFAIK...

well that sucks....there s gotta be a solution for inspire 2 with this crsytalsky screen because the ipad mini 2 screen isnt cutting it.

Ive just upgraded to the iPad Pro 10.5 and it works fantastically with Ground Station Pro and the new vertical and orbit modes (albeit having to pay £10 to activate them)!

On a separate note I see there was a download icon in your images, does that mean 3rd part apps can be downloaded and used ?

I would certainly like to know how this performs in bright sunlight compared to the IPad Pro. My gut is it's far better.

5.5" units are now being fulfilled as we speak. 7.85" units are delayed into July.

We do offer the option of an unpaid pre-order that does not charge your card until the order ships. Pre-orders that are paid in full at the time the order is placed do receive priority in our fulfillment. Give us a shout if we can be of any help.

Thanks for the review. I received the 5.5" from Adventure yesterday afternoon.
I ended up mounting to a similar bracket for testing purposes with the MavicPro.
Works very well with both the Inspire 2 and Mavic Pro. I had no hiccups.
I have a new iPad 10", iPadPro 10.5", and iPhone7+ .......... they lose in comparison to the screen quality of the Crystal Sky out in the sun. I had little to no glare on a sunny/cloudy day. The iPad Pro 10.5" is nice big and bright, but there is a very noticeable difference in brightness and reflection(600nits vs 1000nits).
FYI: Advexure had this shipped to me very quickly. I have a high profile production coming this Thursday and I received it just in time.
Great service.

Anxiously awaiting the Ultrabright model!

Here are a couple shots with the Mavic:

Glad to hear you are enjoying the CrystalSky. Safe and happy flying!

I am very pleased with this monitor. Just get the Strong Interference Warning.

Thanks Advexure

You bet, @Tom Dillon. We are happy to hear you are so pleased with the CrystalSky. I might just have to get one of my own! Enjoy!

There a couple of variables that could cause that. I have seen that message before from my backyard because of my router in my house.
I set one of my Custom keys to toggle wifi on/off, just in case it did cause interference.
