Hi,

I will be allowed to fly my soon to be purchased I1 on a farmers field which is around 2 miles from an old RAF base here in the UK.

This is no problem, I think there maybe height restrictions and I can live with that.

However does anyone know if DJI will be extended the NFZ limits to wider margins, around 4 or 5 miles?

If they do it would also mean I could not fly in the big garden I have.

Thanks

When you say its an old RAF base is it decommissioned? If so, its unlikely to be a NFZ.
To answer your other questions re whether DJI will widen the cordon - nobody knows. :(
Have you checked whether DJI currently list your local RAF base as a NFZ?

Here ..... No Fly Zones | DJI

Hi,

Thanks for the speedy reply.

Its RAF Wyton in Cambs, no longer an RAF base, as all the planes moved to whittering. So its not used anymore and even the police helicopter has moved to cambridge, I think its going for redevelopment but the runway, tower is at the moment still there.

As the NFZ stand at the moment, there is no problem for me, but I was wondering if DJI will be expanding the NFZ red zones, in which case it will make it difficult for me, as a purchase! Fingers crossed they won't.

I don't think they will extend out any further on their radius of current restrictions
You probably know Wyton is on the list and extends out over the A141 and clips the B1090 north of the village of Wyton.

I hadn't looked at the map in a long time. Turns out they added the 2 stadiums in St. Louis but removed the NFZ from Jefferson Barracks and the Arch grounds which are both federal area and had NFZ last time I looked. Interesting.
