I am now of the firm belief at this point is that the DJI and Multistar batteries aren't good aux battery candidates because of their low C ratings, unfortunately. My testing has born that out as well.

I'm a little confused as well, wouldn't the DJI battery have the exact same C rating?

Damon I guess I'm a bit confused I thought we were looking for low C batteries because you got more power per wait out of the low c .I thought the general consensus was the DJI 47 and 48 batteries had very low c?

Low C batteries are much lighter, which is their allure. But with the DJI TB4X batteries as the main battery, low C batteries as aux batteries just don't get used properly and drain at the same rate, even other DJI TB4X batteries (ie identical). I suspect it's due to the charging logic in the TB4X but I don't know for sure. I do know the higher C (20C+) work as expected and drain in parallel with the main TB4X battery.

I think we're zeroing in on the sweet spot. Seems the sweet spot might be 20C, paired with a TB48 main battery, and either
  • 2 X 6S 2800mAH (or as high as you can find/afford) in the 370g neighborhood, or
  • 1 X 6S 5600mAH (or as high as you can find/afford) in the 740g neighborhood
Depending on your mounting preference.

Looks promising! Test and post! Are those the eBay ones?

tcchow - I'm very impressed by your lipo brackets you fabricated for this mod. Are you in the US? Would you be interested in manufacturing/selling any additional brackets for those of us with limited skills and resources? lol

Seems like a lots of gear, weight and hassle to hold two batteries.

Why not just use 3M Dual Lock like I am doing at the front of the battery compartment? Safe, cheap and weighs nothing.

what I am trying to do are balancing left and right, front and back. That piece of alloy give me enough rooms to put the battery go little bit forward and backward and get to the balance I need.

How much do all the pieces and screws weigh per side?
