Help with early morning group photo

hi all, I am doing an early morning group photo and am wondering if it would be best to have the subjects face the sun or the sun at there backs. Any tips will be much appreciated

Have them face the sun.

Definitely better to have their faces sun lit rather than shooting into the sun with shadowed faces.

Just make sure you don't have the drone shadow in your picture if shooting with the sun behind you. Probably best to shoot at an angle to the sun.
