REVIEW: Smart Power Charger DJI Inspire 1 SPC4500

No worries, I think the discussion on the Charger Bar was warranted. thanks anyways happy 4th of July :)
I have one of the charging bars but not used it. I agree they are of poor quality assembly. One end of one resistor had a stray solder thread touching the adjacent resistor. I bought it just to assess it.

Not anywhere in the same league as the Smart Charger.

What happened on the 4th July apart from pay day? ☺ I'm in the UK. Somethings just don't revolve round the US ☺☺. Plus it's only the 2nd.

As a side note I was told today by a friend in Germany that it's not good to wish someone a happy birthday before the actual date. Don't think Americans are that sensitive though! Any excuse for a party, that's what I say!

I don't think they are selling the box by itself.

I like the box, it is nice, they did a good job on it.
Maybe if they admit their mistake, (like DJI did with the stock little 100w supply) and start using a Mean Well RSP-1000-24 Power Supply then the 4 packs would have 200w each at their disposal with 200w "head room" for ipads and radios.

Four TB48 packs would charge SAFELY in half the time/45 minutes (which would be worth the investment).
Using the same weak 100w to charge each pack in the same lengthy time is not worth $400, and neither is the "no wire" claim. (who cares, I don't charge my packs in front of company, these aren't display items).

Maybe this company will listen to me (like DJI did) and upgrade their power supply to something more "adequate" would be the proper word.

So DJI listened to you did they? I presume you know that because they acknkowledged you. Why would they do that? Sounds a bit like "look at me, I'm the greatest, the whole world is wrong and I am right, I'm not proud and I don't mind telling you" syndrome. Sorry but that's how it's coming across Carlsberg Bob.

Hey Carlsberg, Can you share with the forum where DJI claimed that they made a mistake with the 100 watt power supply. PLUS I love the idea DJI listened to you can you ask them to hurry up and get us ground station. :)
Thanks in advance for the link.

Guys - Carlsberg is a troll seeking attention to himself
He could not provide proof that he purchased a smart charger - that says a lot about his integrity and his motivation.
All his posts so far are not made with no sound knowledge based.
Let's just ignore him and don't give him the attention he's seeking.

He was just being facetious. No need to try to ostracize him because he disagrees with you guys trying to sell this gadget about the size of the needed power supply.

Let it go.

No DC

If you read all his posts, I stand by what I said above.

1st he claimed to have bought and returned a charger

Asked for proof - he can't provide

His lack of knowledge on the subject is clearly evident by his subsequent posts.

I stand by all what i have said about the product, i have no affiliation with the company other then purchasing the product and gave my personal review. he has slammed a few people but i take no offence, i still stand behind a good product as it serves me well, and i hope people who might be interested will read through the BS.

Understood. Good discussion, even though it might not have felt that way to those involved. I for one learned a few things.

Passions run high easily enough when money, ideas and our love of flying meet, but please let's ALL return to a gentlemanly discussion.

Carlsburg has received his warning from The Editor, and others supporting the charger have received feedback about desired wattage to match DJI's latest charger.

Consider it a white flag, and a feature idea for v2: more power to speed charging.

Cheers guys.

I totally agree with you!

So i have been holding my breath about charging times, but now you opened the cork :),
I have been using nicad, gel, lipos, etc, for a long time and seen many batteries fail and some that lived longer then expected, I am old so don't kill the messenger but its my experience that charging lipos at a slower rate controlled with a good source of power has been what i have found to be best for longevity until recently the SMART BATTERY who know why? but i can say you can throw over wattage at a lipo and all you will get is hot battery with a shorten life. Now that i have said that you have to know i am no engineer but this is what i have experienced through the years of use of different batteries. The Inspire Battery has a logic board the controls the charge so it can balance the cells this process is not done under high wattage but on the contrary its actually using very little wattage as it peaks the cells evenly i have no statistical information to share but this is what i have learned from information shared in many forums.
