I do like the new Inspire, but why buy one?
All those new features are not necessary. Here we are not permitted to fly any further than 100 mtr and not higher than 50 mtr in 2017.So smart RTH? Or recognition on obstacles.Maybe it's ok when you fly in small area's.Another thing is you can go away over 7 km.WTF!!I see more idiots buying one and doing things wich are all forbidden.
Don't get me wrong it will be a hell of a drone and I do like it.
And for sure there will be comments like"you can buy a Ferrari and it's your own choice when driving wat too fast".

This is like the ultimate hobbyist spy machine. Just don't get yourself in trouble;)
It's crash proof for a pretty penny:cool:

I think it is more the capability... in film you sometimes do need things that are not of normal nature... we have a flight head from filmotechnic actually two to be precise and for my part being able to go a 100km/h is also a good thing as for ex in film they do go fast... the 5.2k or 4k raw and ability of such is another thing I would get it... not all countries have restrictions like you have in yours... in hungary they are still working on something... not even close to having anything...
if i had a spare 6 grand plus the SSD and some more for extra batts I´d just be on the DJI site at this moment as I see and know that all the things (forget the comfort features) but the others I mentioned have great value and huge possibilities to be used... I had my indoor flights and being able to safely fly on an altitude would be nice and less nerve wrecking.. not to mention the flight time...
plus the 1080i is absolute awesome as I did have broadcast gigs and had to do a work around with datavideo cross converter and also have to buy one as the 720p coming down is not always good for the mixers...
there are many things we were talking / begging about over the last 2 years and DJI did listen like it seems..

Does anyone know if the Z3 camera is supported? Was interested in that to be able to change focal length in the air, but I can't find any mention of compatibility on Inspire 2. And now looking at list of imaging products on DJI website it seems Z3 is missing.

Like anything, you might fall into the camp of needing the latest and greatest, or the high speed, battery redundancy, fpv, 1080 video feed, etc might be things you need...if so get it. If not, don't. I think it has cool features, but have learned lessons in the drone game as with most complex machines...never buy the first production run. Honestly from what I've seen, the mavic pro does most of what the average pro user needs, pro being defined as making money from it. Again for those who need the max photo quality, and/or uncompressed video then the I2 is the way to go. Interesting they finally licensed prores so you have lower bit rate choices, because I have to say that DJI is way overcharging on the SSD drives...pretty much a $700 markup on a 480GB drive. But at least now with Prores you can probably get a lot more footage out of one drive...that is if it includes Prores high, LT, proxy. Anyone know if the X3 from the I1 will work on the I2 body?

My instinctive reaction to the announcements of the Inspire 2 and Phantom 4 Pro are that given I have an Inspire 1 Pro, 2 X5 cameras (which are incompatible withe the Inspire 2) and not "needing" the alleged superlative video quality of RAW or ProRes, it would seem to make sense replacing my P3P with the P4P rather than sticking with the Inspire upgrade (which I think is fantastic by the way). I don't see myself being hired to provide the aerial footage of series 3 Poldark (more's the pity), so shall consider a more modest upgrade!

Someone asked, no compatibility at all with anything. I1 and I2 are 2 completely independent lines, no mixing/sharing of anything.

And that kinda sucks. The I2 system seems awesome, but no integration in a company's equipment is annoying, multiplying machines for different purposes is exactly what many want to avoid both for practical and "shelved $" reasons.

Thank you editor. Now many folks can come here and have their premature ejaculations over the I2 ...

So if I choose to get the x5s without the raw license keys it's going to be 1500 dollar cheaper but I will be able to unlock the raw later on right!

Unless you are regularly shooting for a cinematography studio I see this new inspire hard to justify. Most of my shoots do not even require what my inspire 1 is capable of. Although I would like to have it for fun! If I hadn't just remodeled my basement I would do it.
